TV prices soared 300pc in last 8 months in India
The per unit cost of TVs will go up by at least Rs 2,000-3,000 starting April 1st, 2021. In the last eight months alone, TV prices have soared up to 300 per cent causing a net escalation of almost Rs 3,000-4,000 per unit.

In the last eight months alone, TV prices have soared upto 300% causing a net escalation of almost INR 3000-4000 per unit.Besides the prices of TV panels (open cell)which have been on a continuous rise to the tune of more than double, mainly due to supply shortage by global vendors, other factors that are leading to this surge are - a hike in custom duty, rise in cost of input material like copper, aluminium and steel and an increase in ocean and air freights charges, that is collectively set to put the prices on fire.

TVs Are Getting More Expensive in India and This Is the Reason Why Xiaomi increased its TV prices by over 11 percent in the last couple of months, while Realme silently hiked its TVs by up to over 15 percent.
TV prices in India have increased by around 10 percent or more across all segments and brands, as per market data reviewed on Gadgets 360. Although TV sales, particularly in the fast-growing Smart TV segment, have been rising during the coronavirus-related lockdowns, this might face obstacles now.
